Winners of just two games this season and outscored 315 to 158, the Cleveland Browns are mired in another lost season and the results have obviously endangered the job security of coach Eric Mangini and his staff. Mangini defended his work Friday in a press conference. "I've been a head coach for four years now, different places, different experiences, different players,' Mangini said in remarks distributed by the team. 'I feel good about the things that I've done in that role. Has it always produced the results wanted? No, because the goal is to win every game. You make decisions as you go and you continue to improve and progress." Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said he isn't worried about being fired. "We just coach and kick [butt], that's all we're going to do and what we're looking to do on defense every week," Ryan said. "I'm not worried about job [security]. Please, I know I can coach in this league and will continue to coach, whether here or somewhere else. Eric brought me here to Cleveland, a place I wanted to be. I am a loyal person and we're fighting hard together. I've seen a lot of improvement every week. [One] has to be blind not to see this team coming together with a lot of good, solid people."
