NFL Network analyst and former front office executive Michael Lombardi is in Cleveland today and will be named the Browns vice president of player personnel, per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

A press conference has been scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today to announce the hiring.

Lombardi had been rumored to be a candidate for the position for several weeks due in part to his relationship with Browns president Joe Banner.

The press conference was a joke. The extreme opposite of the Bears. The bears presser was one of the better ones out there. This one was a joke. No one took responsibility or said who has final say on anything...lol. Haslam, Banner, chudzinski, Lombardi and not one of them would give a straight answer?

They know however it'll be structured, and I bet the PD is already trying to sort that stuff out. Nobody should rely on staged news conferences for details like that because they already know going in exactly how much information they're going to share.

Eh on Lombardi, we'll see. Obviously would've much preferred to keep Heckert, but they weren't going to let him keep final decision power.
