Mike Adams replaced Brandon McDonald as the Browns starting right cornerback in the base defense against the Lions and could get the call Sunday against the Bengals. Head coach Eric Mangini made the switch one game after sloppy coverage by McDonald against the Ravens turned a short pass to Derrick Mason into a 41-yard gain. Rather than point out any shortcomings of McDonald's, Mangini looked at the switch as recognizing effort by Adams. "Mike's earned it," Mangini said. "Mike's a versatile guy. He's played safety and started there. He's started at corner. I like the things that he does. I like the way that he competes. I think the fact that every week it doesn't matter to Mike, 'Where do you need me? What do you want me to do? How can I help?' We could put him anywhere and he'd be happy to do it. He tries to do it exactly the way you tell him to do it. He plays with a high effort all the time." Source: FOXSports.com
