With Brandon Weeden sidelined by a sprained thumb, coach Rob Chudzinski announced on Wednesday that Brian Hoyer, not Campbell, will start Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Hoyer, listed as the team's third-string passer, will make just his second NFL start after engineering a 27-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers as a member of the Arizona Cardinals last December. Hoyer was signed in the offseason to pad Cleveland's quarterback room. The former New England Patriot is a favorite of general manager Michael Lombardi and showed well during the preseason. He'll probably tear it up and make the Cards look like the crappy personnel decision team they've always been.
