The Cleveland Browns assigned wide receiver Jordan Norwood as their designated-for-return player on injured reserve Friday. Norwood sustained a sprained foot in Sunday's 41-27 loss to the New York Giants, a game in which the 26-year-old recorded career bests of nine catches and 81 receiving yards. After being inactive for the season's first three weeks, he also registered four catches totaling 56 yards in a loss at Baltimore on Sept. 27. Under the designated-for-return rules, Norwood will be eligible to resume practicing in six weeks and can be reinstated to the active list in eight weeks. To fill the available roster spot, the Browns signed undrafted rookie receiver Josh Cooper from the practice squad. Source: Sports Network
