Brandon Weeden suffered a sprained right thumb on his throwing hand when he inadvertently smacked it against a helmet, but X-rays were negative, coach Rob Chudzinski said. Weeden left the stadium with a black brace on his hand and said he didn’t know whether he would be able to play next week on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. “We’ll find out more tomorrow,†Weeden said when asked whether he’ll be able to face the Vikings. “It just depends on how it responds and if I can heal quick enough.†Weeden said he didn’t know whether he will undergo an MRI for his thumb. “It hurts,†Weeden said. “It doesn’t feel good.†Source: Akron Beacon Journal
