Rookie running back Trent Richardson practiced today after suffering an injury to the cartilage in his right rib cage Sunday when he absorbed a blow from a helmet during the first quarter of the Browns’ 34-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

After the game, Richardson said he expects to play Sunday when the Browns (1-5) visit the Indianapolis Colts (2-3). Richardson, the third overall pick in this year’s draft, appeared to move well while taking handoffs during practice.

"In my head, I’m gonna be ready for Sunday," Richardson said. "I’m already ready for Sunday. It just depends how I do and coach is gonna let me know what I need to do.

"You're really just going [to play] with how much pain you can tolerate. And for me, I'm just going to be ready for Sunday and ready to go for the whole game."

Browns rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden also looked fine today during practice. Weeden, the 22nd overall pick in this year's draft, twisted his ankle Sunday but didn't miss a snap.
