The Browns initiated the trade that sent running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick in 2014, several league sources have told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The trade has touched off a firestorm of criticism from Browns fans, but CEO Joe Banner said Wednesday night that the deal was more about getting good value and positioning the Browns for the future than anything negative about Richardson.
