Cornerback Aqib Talib said he apologized Thursday to the team for his altercation with tackle Donald Penn. Torrie Cox, who was trying to play peace-maker, received stitches for a facial laceration Wednesday when he was inadvertently struck by Talib's helmet during practice. "It was a small altercation that kind of got bigger than we wanted it to get,'' Talib said. "Still, it's football. It's a competitive nature out there. Me and Donald, we let our emotions get the best of us and it just kind of got out of hand out there.'' Talib, who was involved in an altercation with rookie running back Cory Boyd at the NFL Rookie Symposium last year, says he needs to work on controlling his emotions. "I've definitely got to work on it,'' Talib said. "It's a family though. When you're out here with your brothers, I'm sure a lot of us have brothers and sisters. I mean, you fight. It comes with being a family. We're all brothers out here. Me and Donald, we're perfectly fine today. It's behind us. We're ready to work hard and move on.'' Source: St. Petersburg Times
Theres fighting in camps but swinging a helmet is a bit ridiculous. Fights at camp are awesome there were 2 one of the days i went. Both were the linebackers vs winston justice lol. All they did was push each other or grab there facemasks.
The helmet swing is the next step up from the facemask pull. One thing I want to know, why was a CB anywhere near an offensive tackle?
