Two Buccaneers players are being treated for the staph infection MRSA, according to a report from Alex Marvez and Mike Garafolo at FOX Sports.

Citing a source, the report states that guard Carl Nicks is one of the two players that has contracted MRSA, other media reports indicate the second player is kicker Lawrence Tynes.

MRSA, short for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, can be resistant to antibiotics. In severe cases, it can be fatal.

The report also stated that the Buccaneers had their team facility scrubbed in case traces of MRSA were on site.

Staph infections in general are a mother hecker. I got one about three months ago and had to hop on antibiotics after a small pink spot on my leg grew to about eight inches and had little pus bumps. The antibiotics hecked up the bacteria in my stomach, which gave me diarrhea which in turn caused me to get a damn hemorrhoid which i had to deal with for a month. ANd I have had small flare ups twice since then. Not freaking fun.

And these guys have MRSA, the antibiotic resistant strain? Screw.

I know some people don't really know, but staph infections are serious crap. Google it and check out the images. Scary stuff.
