The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been notoriously tight with their money over the last five seasons or so, and unless they pay left tackle Donald Penn, this might not end very well for them. The veteran lynchpin for the offensive line has informed the team he will not sign the one-year tender he received as a restricted free agent for $3.168 million. The Bucs have said they intend to cut his pay, which is more symbolic than anything else because they can only lower it by about $100,000 by paying him 110 percent of his 2009 base salary. Penn, according to Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times, said he is uncertain if he will attend minicamp, which kicks off Monday. Penn has boycotted the voluntary offseason workout program, and he is seeking the kind of longterm security that has been elusive for so many of the RFA’s this season. Source: National Football Post
Good thing there isn't any money issues with the Bucs???? How much does a starting LT make in the NFL? Sign him long term and forget about it.
that's the funny thing though. This guy isn't worth it. He played out of shape all year last year and the Bucs would have upgraded if they could.
obviously you don't watch the bucs like me and mush do adammwilson, because penn is one dependable pretty damn good LT he deserves the money
