The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the release of veteran defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth on Wednesday. Claimed off waivers from the New England Patriots last November, the 6-foot-6, 350-pound Haynesworth started six of seven games for the Buccaneers, totaling 20 tackles and a pair of passes defensed. As a vested veteran, Haynesworth is not subject to waivers and is free to sign with another club. Haynesworth was scheduled to earn $7.2 million between base salary ($6.7 million), roster bonus ($400,000) and workout bonus ($100,000). That $7.2 million will come off the Buccaneers' salary cap, now giving the team nearly $70 million in cap space in 2012. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Eagles should get him for dirt cheap and have Jim Washburn whip him into his prime shape in Tennessee and have the chance to stick it to the redskins twice a year.
