Buccaneers Will Pick Up Contract Options On Raheem Morris, Greg Olsen

Discussion in 'Tampa Bay Buccaneers' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jan 6, 2011.

  1. Buccaneers General Manager Mark Dominik confirmed Thursday that head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Greg Olson would have their options picked up in 2011. Dominik made a convincing argument for Morris as the NFL's coach of the year, considering injuries and the rebuilding nature of the team. Tampa Bay didn't reach the postseason but finished 10-6 and became the first team in NFL history to start at least 10 rookies and still have 10 wins. Olson also merits a reward for the impressive work he's done in developing Josh Freeman, the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week in each of the final two games.

  2. That was a heck of a coaching job he did despite all the rash of injuries on his team he had to deal with. 10 rookie starters but still finished above .500 and 10 wins.

This could be one of the closest Coach Of The Year races in quite sometime. I think it'll be either Todd Haley or Morris.

You guys know how I feel about coach Rah. He did a better then expected job with the Bucs this year and he's a great personality to boot. He should be the face of the Bucs for years to come. Both Morris and Haley deserve the COY.

I can't help but to applaud Morris on what he's done with the Bucs. Who really would've thought?
