The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' confidence in wide receiver Michael Clayton may be a bit diminished, but Clayton's confidence in himself is not. Asked Monday if he believes he'll prove himself worthy of a starting position between now and the start of the regular season, Clayton didn't flinch. "I will,'' he said. Clayton's comments came after the Bucs completed the first of their 14 league-allotted voluntary offseason on-field practices. The workout featured Clayton working alongside three receivers – veteran Reggie Brown and rookies Arrelious Benn and Mike Williams – brought in to push Clayton after the worst season of his six-year career. Bucs coach Raheem Morris agreed the changes affected the receivers as well as other facets of the offense, but said Clayton has to find a way to turn his strong offseason performances into equally strong regular-season performances. in all fairness, clayton has never had any consistency in his QB position. Having said that, i think part of clayton's problem may be that he was drafted into a dysfunctional situation and he is partly to blame for contributing to the dysfunction with his attitude, lack of effort, etc. although since he's never been a part of an nfl team that was stable, he doesn't know how to act.
