    86WARD -

    Yeah...I'll buy that...

I think the Ravens Defense will miss him for sure...but they won't be horrible. They'll still be one of the better D's in the league...

I think they'll miss Rex Ryan, Bart Scott, and even Jim Leohnard. Their defense will be above average but not exceptional this year

I can see the Ravens defense doing well for themselves in 2009 but I can see them missing Rex Ryan.

    SoDev Don't tase me, bro!

Sell - I don't think he alone will play much of a role in '09. The vet D will still be running the same (his) defense, they know what they are doing. They are more likely to miss him in 2-3 years.

Balts. D will still be hardcore.

Hey JJoe, these polls are for fun so we should be able to see who votes for what. I know you did some like that, do all like that going forward, it's better.

Kinda, our D was good before him - he inherited a great D, he didn't make it. But at the same time he did do alot of interesting things with the talent. We've replaced DCs before and haven't had any major dropoffs so I foresee this going about the same.
The interesting thing will be how Rex fares - as good as his Ravens DC to HC predecessors Mike Nolan and Marvin Lewis?
Our positional coaches to HCs seem to have fared better so far (Del Rio, Mike Smith, Mike Singeltary).

Sell. Marvin Lewis was a better D cordinator then Rex and they didn't miss him. They will miss the players more then Rex.

Sell: This defense continues to reload even when they change coordinators or lose personnel. This will be another top 10 defense in the NFL next year.

Just curious, how'd the ravens do when they lost Hartwell? Sharper? Adalius Thomas? McCrary? How bout when Marvin Lewis left? Or Jack Del Rio?

The one common denominator was Brian Billick. I like Harbaugh, and he's a goo coach, but he wasn't there through any of those transitions

I would say the common denominator has always been Ray Lewis - we've had 3 LB coaches go be headcoaches elsewhere in recent memory. As long as we've got Ray I think he knows how that crap works well enough to keep it together.

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

i think they will miss leonhard, mcallister and rolle in that secondary and scott in the middle....ray cant play forever. the good news is ther 2 best payers on defense are still there and thats ngata and reed

  14. Flacco2MasonTD

    Flacco2MasonTD ಠ_ಠ

I think we brought back Rolle and Mcallister is still healing himself after a tough campaign then we'll see where he lands (if he can check his tude) - as for Leonhard, the guy showed guts down the stretch but we're getting Dawan back and it was his job anyhow. Scott wasn't as good as Adalius Thomas and we replaced him - by and large I think we're gonna be ok. And wheres the love for Suggs?

    Crowned Doesn't give a shit.

Buy, they still have the talent, but he was definitely a part of there recent success as one of the best defensive units in football.

  16. Chrisbob

    Chrisbob Fuck Dallas

Buy, but combined with the loss of a couple of players and a couple more another year older it will see the Ravens D not be the force it was (although I doubt it becomes bad, maybe just falls to just outside the top ten).

sell, i think losing scott will have more of an impact then ryan

Sell - The Ravens D was fine when Mike Nolan and when Marvin Lewis left, the D will be fine now since Rex is gone. No worries with the defense.
