Try to get this back on track after the server move Buy/Sell Kyle Orton will have a higher QB rating than Jay Cutler *Think carefully about scheme fit's and surrounding talent **********Automerged Doublepost********** I honestly buy Cutler is a much better QB, but I think Orton in the NE system is set up to succeed, especially with Marshal, Royal, Stockley and Sheffler
I'm guessing that I'll be going against the norm here, but I voted buy on this one. There were a couple different reasons I went that way. First Orton has alot more tallent around him with Royal, Marshall, Scheffler, and his RB's. Cutler has Forte, Devin Hester who is not a #1 or 2 or 3 receiver, and Greg Olsen who I like. I also think Denver is going to play a much more ball control type of game, where Orton is going to be asked to ba a game manager. Another reason is last year Cutler had the best pass protection statistically in the leage (something like 1.7 sacks per 100 pass attempts), and the 2nd most interceptions in the league. He threw I believe 7 picks inside his own 20, and a few more inside the 50. The defense was bad, but at times the QB put them in a bad spot. Cutler has the big arm, but IMO Orton has a better chance at success.
Because of the system he is in, I can see Orton having a higher QB Rating than Cutler. I'll buy it. He's got more to work with as far as "weapons" go...
Sell, Orton has more weapons and will be more of a manager but I'm a believer in true talent shining through and I think Cutler will pull through.
The whole argeument on Orton being a game manager is wrong. You can't be a game manager when you have to cover up a horrible defense. Orton will be forced to make plays(which he can't) to try and win the games. Cutler may not have the weapons Orton has, but he has a very good TE in Olsen and a home run threat in Hester, not to mention a very good defense.
