Can the Tennessee Titans make the playoffs despite their lack of a passing attack?
Last year Vince Young was the media darling who could do no wrong. This year the Titans are winning in spite of him. Down the stretch he's going to have to step up. Will he be able to and help get the Titans in the playoffs?

they have a good, punishing defense, and they can run the ball.

i'm gonna say yes they can.

They've got a good defense and running game, if Young stepped up his game, that'll only help their chances even more. I think they'll get into the playoffs.

Yes, they can make it. But can they win in the playoffs? I'm going to say no.... we need SOME production from VY to win in the playoffs. It doesn't have to be much but he has to show up and especially not make mistakes.

I think the Titans need to find some semblance of a passing game. It's going to come to a point where Vince Young will have to shine to pull out a tough win because the defense will be geared to make him win the game. The redzone offense has been atrocious. I just hope they can find a way to pull off a win Sunday and get some separation from the Jaguars in the division.

I think they will make the playoffs....good defense...good running game and the two biggest keys......

    1) Good Kicking game

    2) GREAT COACHING!!!!!!!!!

No joke....thank god for Jeff Fisher. And to think there was a time Bud Adams was even rumored to be considering replacing him. Fisher finds a way to get the most out of some players who have run-of-the-mill talent. And I can't remember a time I could ever say Jeff Fisher was out-coached by anyone. He always has the Titans prepared to play.

I agree that they can make the playoffs without a passing game, but once there those inky dinky 5 yard passes aren't going to fly and they could be one and done.

The situation is weird, though. All year teams have had 8+ men in the box and the running game has still been effective. Despite what I said earlier, I don't even know if Young has to throw for 150+ yds for us to win a playoff game. I think he needs to earn the respect of defensive coordinators via his legs. Look at the Jags game in week one. The Jags dared him to pass all game, loading the box all day, and what happened? 282 yds rushing. The kicker there was Mike Peterson... he was VY's spy the whole game and it took him out of the play every time. The only reason we didn't win by more then 3 points was, as Steverob said, the lack of redzone offense.

If VY starts to run more and limits his mistakes in the passing game and couple that with improved redzone offense we will win without a passing game, thats just what he brings to the table.

That said I am worried about LenDale's durability right now.

Yes but if they run into the Colts or Patriots, thats as far as they'll get.

I think if they hit the Steelers in playoffs they're done too. Steelers are too good against the run. Only problem would be that sometimes Steelers have problems with mobile qb's. Titans make playoffs but are one and done this year.

I think there's a very good chance of winning the first week (if we make it) since we'll most likely be playing the winner of the west whom we will have already played. Also, if we get the Colts in the second week I wouldn't write that off as a loss for us, either.
