Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said this morning that had no conclusive information two injured starters.

Strong side linebacker Chike Okeafor and right tackle Oliver Ross were still seeking second opinions on their injuries suffered in Saturday's preseason loss at Oakland and Whisenhunt said he would refrain from comment until hearing their exact diagnoses.

Okeafor suffered a torn left biceps and Ross a torn left triceps. Both are likely to miss the season if their injuries require surgery -- a strong possibility. Whisenhunt, however, wouldn't rule out the possibility that either player would be able to return after a rehabilitiaion period.

Whisenhunt said rookie offensive lineman Levi Brown, the team's first-round draft pick, would slide into Ross' spot. Whisenhunt said he was confident Brown was up to the task, adding that the former Penn State star has looked better and better as of late.

As for Okeafor's replacement at the linebacker position, it will likely be either Darryl Blackstock or Calvin Pace.

you never wish injuries on anybody.
