Carlos Beltran evidently did not approve of Yasiel Puig's exuberant celebrations during Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.

Puig, who has been criticized throughout his rookie season for his emotional style of play, celebrated twice on his RBI triple that helped the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0 on Monday night.

Sportsguy's Take: I loved the emotion Puig showed. We need to see more emotion like that in sports

Think about it from the Cardinals point of view though. While he is still young, that kind of outburst ( right term? ) can rub the other team the wrong way. As we've seen numerous times the opposing pitchers can dole out their brand of justice. He should be more constrained, for his own sake, especially in the playoffs.

Hell I remember Beltran's rookie year with the Royals. He's been a stone-faced, non-emotional player his entire career. If not Puig, then it would have been someone else that Beltran would have commented on simply because it got handed to them. Had the Cards won, Beltran would have been silent. And if the opposing pitcher does plunk someone on the Dodgers? Everybody will know why and brush it off "just because that's baseball."

Carlos Beltran is just another name on a long list of people Puig has annoyed this season.

That celebration made me dislike Puig.

Yeah, especially when he just flipped the bat and looked at the ball before really running the bases. He got a triple out of that hit but could have had an inside the park home run if he wasn't being a bonehead after he made contact with the ball.
