“It was putrid,†head coach Bruce Arians said of his offense on Monday, a day after the Cardinals’ 13-10 win at Tampa Bay, which evened their record at 2-2. “That was a good defense, but we continually harmed ourselves with mental errors. It sounds very repetitive and it is getting very repetitive for me, too. If it was one guy it would be easy to fix. But it seems like we’ve got eight or nine guys playing each play extremely well and two guys that decide to do the wrong thing.†Arians’ offenses typically are extremely complicated but he scoffed at the notion that perhaps his team simply hasn’t had enough time to digest it all in order to execute things with any precision. “I haven’t seen it take this long ever,†he said. “We’ve looked at it long and hard as a coaching staff – if were’ asking too much. Everyone decided, ‘Obviously not.’ We’ve just got to do a better job as coaches and players.†Source: Arizona Republic SteveRobWhatever's Take: Arians went on to pretty much call out everyone except for Carson Palmer. The receivers, the o-line and even his buddy from Pittsburgh got some after Arians noted that Rashard Mendenhall's "lack of practice practice time is really starting to show up in the games". You just wonder if there's enough talent on that team to turn it around.
No there's not. Other than drafting Jonathan Cooper and then losing him to a broken leg, the Cards have done nothing to repair an O-Line that been broken a long time.
They should have cut their ties with Levi Brown too. I just don't see him being the 'franchise' left tackle they need.
More than a few around here were literally shocked when he was 1) resigned and 2) given the start. He's not even an average LT and primarily the No. 1 reason why Palmer will never realize his past successes. It's tough to run and throw all game long.
