Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt is hopeful both running backs Ryan Williams and Beanie Wells will be able to participate in preseason games within the next two weeks. “I’ve been encouraged with the amount of work they’ve been doing and they are very close,†Whisenhunt told “NFL AM†on Thursday. “Ryan has been practicing for us, I think that he’ll play very soon, if it’s not this game, it will be the next game and I anticipate Beanie won’t be far behind him.†Wells was taken off the physically unable to perform list this week, which allowed him to begin participating in practices. Whisenhunt said the duo’s work on the practice field gives him the confidence that they will be prepared for the regular season. “The fact that they have been working hard in rehab and they are looking good and we feel like we are going to get them in a game, and get them ready to start the season, here in a week or two,†he said.
