In the wake of signing safety Adrian Wilson to a five-year, $37 million contract and increasing his salary cap figure for this season to nearly $10.2 million, the Arizona Cardinals are suddenly dealing with an extremely tight financial situation. According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, the Cardinals are now roughly $1.5 million under the NFL salary cap limit. Unless a long-term deal is negotiated with franchise linebacker Karlos Dansby to lower his $9.7 million cap impact for 2009, then it will be extremely difficult to have enough money left over for the lucrative contract that Pro Bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin has been seeking.
