Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910 confirms that John Skelton will be the Cardinals starting quarterback for Thursday’s game against the Titans. Skelton seems to be leading the race for the Cardinals starting QB job after Kevin Kolb‘s mediocre performance in the last 3 games. So far, Kolb has completed 5 of 15 passes for 47 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT. He’s also been sacked 4 times including 1 safety, which has resulted in a quarterback rating of 15.1. Skelton hasn’t been a star either, but considering that the Cardinals are reportedly not looking for upgrade in the market, it seems like he gives them best chance of winning at this point. Name Skelton the starter now, let the young man start building some confidence and give Kolb some practice time in carrying the clipboard. Kolb's 15.1 passer rating this preseason can't have Fitz & Co. jumping for joy.
I think you have to go Skelton and center your offense around the run game with Wells and Williams. Skelton has been more protective of the ball and he has the arm to compliment the run game with play action.
I wish we could trade you guys a backup third string linebacker for Kolb or something. Win win for both teams!
Why a 3rd string backer? We'll give you Kolb and O-Line coach Russ Grimm for your backup punter. You're too giving.
Kolb should consider changing his uniform to black and white stripes to disguise himself on the field. All the people who screamed about the deal are now getting the satisfaction of listening to your Sal Palantonio's of this world doing a 180 on the potential greatness of Kevin Kolb. Listen up Front Offices, fans aren't as stupid as you give us credit for.
As long as they remove Kolb from the roster, then I'd take McCoy. Skelton and the newly drafted Lindley out of SDSU for certain, then one other QB...........but not Kolb. I fear his mere presence would be highly contagious.
Like McCoy is Really any better if you are looking for a quality starter. Sure he doesn't get injured as much, but he is as dreadfully mediocre as Kolb seems to be.
I didn't say a thing about him being a starter. Skelton, Lindley then McCoy. Neither Kolb or McCoy are starters.
