One of the things that drives some NFL fans crazy is the incessant back-and-forth quality to the past several years of Brett Favre’s existence. When he’s not wrestling with a decision, he’s wrestling with whether to revisit a decision. Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, who once upon a time was a camp arm at the bottom of the depth chart Favre ruled in Green Bay, understands Favre’s predicament. “[T]here’s . . . guys that it takes a couple of months to really get away from the game and you start getting that itch again and you start thinking about football,” Warner told Sporting News Radio’s The Monty Show on Wednesday night. “You know sometimes you have to make a decision earlier than you want to based on teams and the current situation and that’s where I relate with Brett. Sometimes you get forced into making that quick decision and it’s not until a couple of months down the road that you realize I still think there’s some more left in me. So I can relate to that and you know a guy like Brett. . . . You know he’s good for the game, you know he can still play, you know he does it the right way. You just hope that the bottom line at the end of the day is that the decision he makes, he gets the opportunity to let that play out.” Source: ProFootballTalk.com
i understand it's hard for any athlete, celebrity, etc. to step away from the attention, limelight, etc. you just have to know when to walk away ...................
i think the reason brett "walked" away this time, was in order to make his way back, only to join the purple people, and try to show green bay they made a mistake.. which in reality, they didn't.. cuz aaron rodgers played great last season, but just to the point where brett had them a fg away from the superbowl, and they cut ties with him after he came back out of retirement to give it one last try. I feel him and the Jets made an agreement to where it wouldn't hurt the Jets organization with draft picks, so he just had to wait a season till they could release him to do what he wants to do.
