Cardinals Set Trade Value For Eagles QB Kevin Kolb

Kevin Kolb finds himself in much the same position as Matt Schaub before he was traded by the Falcons, like Schaub, Kolb's team wants to trade him. Like Schaub, Kolb is unproven and there is no question the Cardinals are interested, and I get the feeling Kolb is their first choice to be their starter in 2011. The Cardinals liked Kolb when he was coming out of the University of Houston, and he has the type of personality (gym rat) that Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt likes in a quarterback. The Cardinals are leery, however, of what the Eagles might want for Kolb. If the Eagles want to use the Schaub trade as a template, I think the Cardinals would be interested.

It's not fair for him to sit on the bench when he's got potential to start now. Cardinals need a QB. Kolb needs a team. Should be enough said. THough, I do know they don't need to get robbed.

I don't think the Cards run the WCO though.

I don't see the benefit to Philly to trade him. They will have equal value for him after the season as the do now, and he can be a nice insurance policy for Vick.

Yea that my thought as well, i think he has a very mediocre arm imo so to think he'd really really excel in a vertical offense is a bit of a stretch imo.

actually his greatest time of value passed at this year's draft.

you obviously do not see many eagles games because reid's version of the WCO with the current receivers the team has is actually quite verticle and kolb did fine getting the ball down field.

also isnt wisenhut trying to get away from the verticle game and get to a more traditional offense where they run the ball more ? :dunno:

I said this in another thread, but I'll repeat: all of those quarterbacks that neglected QB in the draft are hecked. They have three options: Bulger, Hasslebeck, or Kolb. Or they can wait till next year's draft.

There are less potential trade partners, but his value is even greater now that the draft is over.

As Rottstein said, we could do nothing and save him once again for a deal next offseason. Keep good insurance for this season if no one wants to pony up. And I'm betting this is what will happen.

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

i like how for the last 5 years schaub has been the standard for trading for unproven backup QBs and the only one i can really think of is the chargers trading whitehurst to the seahawks and thigpen (i dont remember what e was traded for) going to the dolphins.

everyone wants their own matt schaub, hell i even wanted dixon to be our matt schaub.

I watched a few of there games last year. The only time he looked decent really was against the 49ers weak pass defense.

I know, I can't believe everyone has all of a sudden forgotten about AJ Feely. WTF!

And all we got was a 2nd rounder for him. :icon_sad:
