The Arizona Cardinals agreed to terms on a one-year contract with tight end Jake Ballard on Monday. Ballard had a breakout season with the Giants in 2011, racking up 38 catches for 604 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games, including 13 starts, before tearing his ACL in New York's Super Bowl XLVI win over New England. Source: Sports Network SteveRobWhatever's Take: Remember when Ballard was a baller? It's been a while since he's made an impact on the field. The Cardinals could use his skill set, so you hope he's back 100%.
The talk of the Cards in the off-season was TE Robert Housler and his impact on the offense this season. Yeah....right. I hope Ballard can produce half of what he did in NY. If he does, it will overshadow what Housler's injury-riddled season has done.
