Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson has a torn muscle in his biceps but he is determined to try to play with it, but Wilson also now plans to get a second medical opinion on it to see if the damage is any worse than what the first doctor told him, sources said. The first doctor that examined Wilson over the weekend told the safety that he had a tear and it was his choice whether to have surgery that could end his season or to delay it and play with it. "He will be good to go for the regular season," said one source familiar with the situation. "He's going to opt to not get it repaired. He didn't tear the main muscle in there so he can play through it. We got lucky." On Monday, coach Ken Whisenhunt would give no timetable for Wilson's return other than to say he expects the four-time Pro Bowler to play this season. "That's one thing that is encouraging," Whisenhunt said. "It's just going to be a matter of how his body responds to the rehab. So far it's been very good." Wilson didn't talk to reporters after Monday morning's practice but reportedly has told people he believes he will be ready for the team's Sept. 11 opener against Carolina. The 31-year-old Wilson, who has played all 10 of his NFL seasons with Arizona, was injured in Saturday's scrimmage while attempting to tackle running back Beanie Wells. Source: ESPN
Yeah it sounds freaking painful. And if you're a vet planning to be with the Cards for the long haul, this might not be a bad time to take the surgery and a little break.. this time next year they should have a much better team.
