The Carolina Panthers announced cornerback Chris Gamble was released Friday. Gamble missed the last 12 games of 2012 with a shoulder injury. He's played every down of his nine-year NFL career in Carolina and holds the franchise record with 27 interceptions. The team saves $7.9 million against the salary cap with his release, according to multiple reports. "I appreciate the contributions of Chris during my first two years as head coach and to the organization for many years," Panthers coach Ron Rivera said in a press release.
