ProElite, Inc., parent company of Elite Xtreme Combat, is throwing in the towel on mixed martial arts.Several sources MMAWeekly.com spoke to said notifications had been sent out on Monday informing managers that the company was ceasing its fight promotion operations by the end of this week and it had begun the process of letting its employees go. I imagine the UFC will start signing female fighters now that there are proven ones in other leagues. As for the fighters under contract, they will have to migrate to other organizations. If they go bankrupt there won't be any money left to pay off their contracts.

I really hate to see MMA organizations go under, but the sport needs more time to mature with the current rules in place. This influx of unproven talent is hurting the sport.
