Texans coach Gary Kubiak, a day after a 31-24 loss on a last-play, Hail Mary in Jacksonville dropped the one-time AFC South leaders to sole possession of last place in the division, said improvement must be made immediately and "across the board." "It's not good enough right now," Kubiak said via the team's Twitter account, adding, "Our standard as a football team is not being met right now, and that's all of us." The Texans (4-5), after winning their first two games, have lost five of seven games. They trail Indianapolis (6-3) by two games and Jacksonville (5-4) and Tennessee (5-4) by a game each. The Texans' pass defense continues to rank last in the NFL and on Sunday, they allowed Jaguars quarterback David Garrard to throw for 342 yards and two touchdowns. "We're searching for some answers right now on defense," Kubiak said, adding of an offense that rallied with 21 second-half points after a three-point first half: "Offensively, we have to find a way to play four great quarters." Here's an idea....how about the Titans trade their offense for the Texans offense. Then maybe the Titans would win some of these games they should be winning. Oh wait...that doesn't help the Texans. You get Chris Johnson?
Well what could they do? Take Frank Bush's play-calling duties away? To who....Ray Rhodes? Hell, he'd pop a gasket on the first Sunday. Gary Kubiak? Yeah good luck with that. I guess at this point they have to start looking at the lineup. So what bench warmers could step up?
i've been saying since they hired bush that he was the wrong guy. in addition, kubiak's negligence of his defense is grounds for firing. kubiak thinks he can just out-score everyone in this league. the entire staff should have been gone after last year but maybe they will finally pull the trigger this year.
