Shawne Merriman's career with the San Diego Chargers is over. The Chargers say they have placed the outside linebacker on the injured reserve list with a calf injury and a "minor-injury designation." The team says that means Merriman must be released when he becomes healthy. Once one of the most-feared players in the NFL, Merriman has been dogged by injuries the last three seasons.

Well at least "Lights Out" is one step closer to his aspirations of being a WWE Superstar.

Not surprised. He hasn't done a thing in 3 years, other than causing off the field drama.

  11. Was never a big fan of Merriman.....it was an insult to me that he was being compared to Lawrence Taylor early in his career.

Merriman is finished as for as being a real impact every-down player. He would be a good pass rushing specialist if he's healthy and his ego would allow it. But I highly doubt that would happen.

Maryland. Bruce Allen. I could see him going to Washington...they could use a little pass rush help when and if Merriman is indeed healthy.

Its possible. Not saying likely, but a possibility. I could see us dropping Leon for him, or giving him Hamlins roster spot if we dont give it to Holley

Wouldnt mind it. Low risk, you dont need him. As long as he shuts his mouth, there wont be an issue. He is gonna be playing for a new deal, and here he'll be able to play in sub packages.

I personally think he is done and not coming back as far as being a top rusher, but Ill take Merriman over Butler as a nickle pass rusher for 2010

I think that spot went to holley already but see what your saying. We basically don't have much to lose
