Chargers RB Ryan Mathews suffered a broken clavicle in the Chargers game against the Packers on Thursday night. He's having surgery on Friday and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. He was done after one carry. Mathews was one of the guys Norv Turner has been raving about this offseason, saying he looks great and expects a breakout season for him. As it stands now, it looks like he could miss one or two regular season games, and even then he may not immediately be 100 percent.

Glad I didn't buy the "experts" and draft him in any of my fantasy leagues. Rough for the Chargers outcome.

Bleacher Report has an article titled The 25 Safest Draft Picks Of 2012. Matthews was #7. So much for that.
