Aaron Wilson of Scout.com reports the San Diego Chargers signed safety Paul Oliver to a one-year contract and placed rookie linebacker Jonas Mouton on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. The 5-foot- 10, 210-pound Oliver was on the Chargers’ roster for three years and played in 44 games with 11 starts. He recorded 85 tackles, three interceptions and 20 special teams tackles. A cornerback at the University of Georgia, Oliver transitioned to safety after he was selected by the Chargers in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL supplemental draft. Oliver signed with the New Orleans Saints this year before being released aftertraining camp. Source: The Red Zone
