San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates says he'll definitely play despite a torn plantar fascia in his right foot. It's gut-check time for the Chargers. "This is more of a dire need," Gates told the San Diego Union-Tribune. "Considering how important this game is and what this mean to our whole season I'd like to that, speaking in the third person, Antonio Gates will play. Something would have to really, really be hurting for me to not go." Gates didn't practice today as well as linebacker Stephen Cooper (knee), wide receiver Patrick Crayton (wrist), wide receiver Vincent Jackson (calf), wide receiver Legedu Naanee (hamstring), running back Darren Sproles (concussion).

Oh, good, the week I have a first round bye, he's good to go as of Wednesday after weeks of "questionable" status. No doubt he'll aggravate it while I'm off this week and go back to questionable.
