The Chiefs were throttled 38-3 by Denver and in doing so clinched the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Kansas City is headed toward a potentially complete overhaul of the front office and coaching staff, along with a No. 1 overall pick that should confuse everyone. The Chiefs need a quarterback, but Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson are not walking through that door. Geno Smith is available, but there are questions about him being a franchise quarterback. Drafting a "franchise quarterback" in the first round who doesn't pan out is the worst thing a franchise can do, especially if that franchise is being captained by a new general manager. I'm guessing a QBs stock shoots up this year like every other and they go that route. Cam Newton sure wasn't expected to go first at this point a few years ago, but it happened. I think Glennon probably gets a lot of hype starting pretty soon; not saying he's the top choice, but I doubt the Chefs would feel safe waiting for him in the second once the hype machine takes effect.
snow is right ......... QB's always shoot up the board leading up to the draft. and the chiefs really have no choice ............. unless the packers are ready to get rid of rodgers and the chiefs can trade their #1 pick for him.
