Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel mentioned Brady Quinn‘s recent rib injury could force them to start second-year QB Ricky Stanzi against the Colts next weekend. “There’s a possibility,†said Crennel, via the Kansas City Star. “Like I said last week, there’s a possibility, and I mentioned injuries as one of the reasons. We’ll see what Brady looks like, and then we’ll make some decisions and go from there.†Quinn will be evaluated throughout the week before the decides on their starting quarterback. This just further illustrates that Matt Cassel is no longer part of the team’s future and seems very likely to be released following the season. It’s hard to say that Stanzi gives them any shot of winning a game, but neither do the other two. Source: NFL Trade Rumors
I'd like to see Stanzi get a couple games as a starter under his belt just to see what he's got going...
people around k.c. aren't expecting anything out of him. what they've seen from stanzi the last couple of years since they drafted him has not been good. at this point, chiefs fans have accepted the fact that all 3 qb's on their current roster are not starting worthy, need to go away and 3 new ones brought in, preferably a very high draft pick and also someone like alex smith or kirk cousins just to make sure the organization improves the position immediately.
Still, if he does pull off a little magic, you've either got trade bait or confirmation he's ready for the CFL.
