Chiefs Hire Romeo Crennel As Defensive Coordinator

One-time Giants assistant and former Browns head coach Romeo Crennel will not be the new Giants defensive coordinator. Crennel has been hired to run the Chiefs defense. Crenell never interviewed with Tom Coughlin but the Giants did express some interest. Crennell will be reunited with Kansas City offensive coordinator Charlie Weis. The two worked together for the Patriots for four years.

well, this whole reunion of crennel, weis, and pioli started around the rumor mill in k.c. a couple of weeks ago so it's not a shock. both of these guys are now back in their natural environments where they thrive (as nfl coordinators).

HH you guys are going to have a great season with Crennell getting that defensive players in line.

 

There still is a lack of talent at key areas of the defense. But Crennel knows how to run a 3-4 so this is good for the move they want.

I also read dev that we've approached Jim Haslett for the position. Seems like an outside choice, more so than Johnson.

 

Not a big Haslett fan... but I could become one if he can get the job done.

I'd like Pepper at this point, I also like Fewell, but I change my mind daily. :icon_lol:

I don't like our options getting snatched up though.
