The Chiefs started off-season practice today without two starting players, guard Brian Waters and linebacker Mike Vrabel. Waters asked to be traded or released after a meeting with coach Todd Haley. Vrabel's absence wasn't a surprise since he skipped a mini-camp last month but the reasons for his absence aren't as clear as they are for Waters. "We had 83 guys here, which was excellent considering (the practices) are voluntary," head coach Todd Haley said. "I'm not going to talk about who's here and who's not here. This is all voluntary. We'd like everybody here but those who weren't here are not a surprise to any of us. I feel comfortable with where we're at with those guys." Source: Kansas City Star
