The Chiefs shored up their shaky secondary Friday night, moving quickly to reach a contract agreement with hard-hitting cornerback Dunta Robinson. Robinson, recently released by the Atlanta Falcons in a cost-cutting move, and the Chiefs reached an agreement on a three-year contract that will bring him to Kansas City this season, according to multiple reports. The deal can’t be made official until Tuesday, when the new league year begins, but Robinson, a nine-year pro who spent the first six seasons of his career with the Houston Texans, could compete for the starting cornerback spot opposite Brandon Flowers. That position was a revolving door of mediocrity most of last season after the Chiefs didn’t offer Brandon Carr a contract, then signed the disappointing Stanford Routt, who was released during the year.
