Chiefs Trade DE Alex Magee To The Buccaneers ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports the Kansas City Chiefs have traded defensive end Alex Magee to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a conditional draft choice. The Buccaneers will also receive an undisclosed 2011 draft choice from the Chiefs. A third-round pick out of Purdue in 2009, Magee (6-3, 298) had eight tackles, including two quarterback sacks in 15 games as a rookie. This season, Magee has been inactive in three of the Chiefs' five games, totaling a pair of tackles in a Week 5 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. In Tampa Bay, Magee figures to move inside to defensive tackle, the position he played in college. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Magee never really made an impact. I don't understand what's going on with the Bucs. The focused their draft on the d-line and now make this trade.
Yeah that is a hard one to get your head around. I could be wrong but I'm thinking they view Dline as a area that badly needs improvement. Not sure. Hard to understand.
I think back to our loss to Minnisotta in last years playoffs, where the completely dominated that game mainly because of the depth they have on the DL, mainly inside Also, that was a huge key to NY's Super Bowl run. Even in a pass happy league, games and championships are won and lost on the line
" You can never have enough pass rushers " Seems more teams are beginning to see that Ernie Accorsi was right..... And when leagues go to more passing, you need to maintain pressure on the pbutt....
Well the Bucs are last in the NFL with 4 sacks (all of which came against the Panthers) so anything new is worth a shot.
McGee is decent in rushing the passer, but is a complete liability against the run. And by decent, I mean average at best. Don't think you've found a diamond in the rough with this one.
dunno him, but i sure hope he proves you wrong. the article did say he played dt in college so maybe a switch back would really benefit him
