You'll recall that in June Indians closer Chris Perez and his wife pleaded not guilty to having a package of marijuana shipped to their home (and addressed to their dog!). Now, reports the AP, Perez has withdrawn his plea and been convicted of misdemeanor drug possession. "You're highly regarded; kids look up to you," Judge Brian Hagan told Perez. "But you made a big mistake. I hope that through your efforts you can deter someone else from making that same mistake." As a consequence, Perez has been fined $250, placed on probation for one year and ordered to speak to schoolchildren about the hazards of drug use. Perez's defense attorney says Perez is also undergoing treatment through MLB. Source: CBS Sports
