Colts Lose OG Donald Thomas For The Year, WR Darrius Heyward-Bey's Status Unknown

    The Colts lost starting guard Donald Thomas for the season in Sunday’s 24-20 loss to Miami and face an uncertain status with wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey.

    Thomas, who signed a four-year, $14 million free-agent contract in March, tore the quadriceps tendon in his right leg in the first quarter. He’ll undergo season-ending surgery.

    “Feel awful about Donald, but that’s how this game is,â€￾ coach Chuck Pagano said.

    Heyward-Bey was scheduled to undergo an MRI on a shoulder. He suffered the injury in the second quarter and did not return.
