If the Indianapolis Colts lose Sunday, they will secure the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 draft and be able to draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. That is causing some Colts fans to become Jaguars fans on Sunday when the teams play at Jacksonville. Colts players don’t like hearing that. “I don’t understand any of that,†Colts tight end Dallas Clark said in quotes distributed by the team. “I am just focused on trying to beat Jacksonville, and I think everyone in this locker room’s goal is to do that.†Defensive end Dwight Freeney was a little more understanding, but he was also galled by the thought of losing on purpose. “I have a lot of pride, so I don’t care if it’s the last game or it was a pickup game on the parking lot,†Freeney said. “I am playing hard. It has gotten me this far. You owe it to your game and you owe it to everyone. I understand it from their perspective. They are looking at it just as, they want the first pick. I don’t care what pick we get. I have never cared. I don’t care if we have first-round picks. I go out there, I play hard every day, and I let those who make those decisions worry about that. Those who play, we are worrying about playing and playing hard, and wherever the chips fall they fall.†Still, there will be fans hoping the Colts fall on Sunday, giving them a chance to draft Luck.

Of course they aren't...no player or coach would ever do that. Those guys are fighting for themselves over the "team." lol...it's goobered to even suggest they would...

well, i can't say that i was seeing 100% effort from this team earlier in the season, so I have a feeling that when 0-16 started becoming a real possibility, Colts management took the time to remind the Colts players that the team was under no obligation to keep them in 2012 because their effort level has definitely kicked up in the last few weeks.

If we lose and the Colts win...It'll make a crapty season a hell of a lot better for us. Those trade offers should be sweeeeeeeet.

yep, and the rams would have to trade that pick since they just drafted bradford ............. although trading bradford and keeping luck is a possibility if they don't feel bradford is the guy after all.

Shoot, I hope the Chiefs trade for Luck, or even Griffin if he comes out.

i thought the colts 'story' was cute like everyone else did earlier in the season but now i'm pretty sick of hearing about it.

i recall last season noticing how little effort the colts players gave early in the season when they realized manning wasn't going to be back. the colts were not as bad as their 2-14 record indicated last year. in fact, if they had given the same effort they are giving this year, andrew luck may have ended up in washington and RG3 may have ended up in minnesota ...... imagine RG3 and a.p. in minnesota ............... that's pretty scary

or, if minny had passed on rg3, he could be with cleveland right now ............. although cleveland may have been dumb enough to still take a RB with their first pick, in which case rg3 may have fallen to the dolphins........... all speculation though.
