Colts QB Peyton Manning will start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list as he recovers from offseason neck surgery. Manning told reporters over the weekend that he can't predict when he'll come back to practice, but he did say that he's worked with his receivers this spring and feels pretty good about where he's at heading into the season. This isn't the first time Manning has had neck surgery impact his preparations; he had neck surgery in 2008 and got off to a tepid start. "If I said that missing training camp had no impact on that season (2008), then that would be going against everything I believe about offseason work," Manning said according to Colts.com. "When I get back to being healthy, I will give you as accurate a description as I can. It is hard for me to predict, because it is a different injury. I want to get back very soon, but I certainly have some work to do." The neck problem is cause for concern, but the reality is that Manning has played high-level football for his entire career without missing a game due to injury. Source: CBS Sports
Peyton needs about a day and a half to be game ready...lol. Seriously though, Manning could be up and at full speed in about 2 weeks.
