CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports that the Steelers have never entertained the idea of trading Roethlisberger, and have not taken calls about his availability. Steelers president Art Rooney II also vehemently denied that the team has ever considered moving Roethlisberger via trade. "Contrary to erroneous reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers have not explored trading quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and have no plans to do so," Rooney said, via a statement. Source: CBS Sports SteveRobWhatever's Take: Big Ben's agent has also been quoted as saying the rumors are false. Either way, where there's smoke there's fire. We all know Roethlisberger isn't happy with Todd Haley, he's snitched and moaned enough in the press. I just wonder if things are so bad he would consider uprooting his life to play elsewhere.
This guy epitomizes Steeler football. Just can't see them not bending over till their spine snaps to make him stay. Sounds more like an exaggerated media creation from some reasonable anger about a poor season.
