Was Carroll's previous NFL stint that great to give him full control of an organization? I remember him being average in NE, but cant remember the personnel aspect at the time.
Spanos seems to be an idiot (OK a very wealthy idiot) who seemed to trust another idiot (AJ Smith) and believed the advice that firing Marty would solve all of his problems. Pete Carroll sucked as the coach at NE. Spanos needs to swallow his pride, fire AJ and call Marty and beg him to come back and fix the Chargers--Again!

This is just wishful thinking on SD's part. They tried this last year before they had to settle on Turner and Pete just thumbed his nose at them. There is no way he is going to give up that cushy job with all of those big titty, blonde hair So Cal college chicks running around for the pressure and work of a pro job... Money can't buy everything.
