Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo underwent X-rays Monday morning as the team was looking for any damage in the area of his ribs after he missed one play Sunday against the Giants just before halftime after being sandwiched by a pair of defenders. Romo has appeared to dodge a serious injury as X-rays came back negative.

"We feel optimistic with the tests coming back negative," Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan. "He’ll be sore but something he’ll be able to play with, as it looks right now."

Even after Sunday's game, Romo vowed to be ready for Week 2 at Kansas City.

"I’m going to be fine," he said. "My (injury is) nothing crazy."
