The NFL has fined right tackle Marc Colombo $5,000 but not for his excessive celebration penalty in the fourth quarter of last week's loss to Tennessee. Colombo was fined for an unnecessary roughness penalty in the second quarter on a Marion Barber run in which he hit a Titans defender late and behind the play. Colombo was flagged for 15 yards for the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after falling to the ground after a chest bump with Jason Witten, but owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he disagreed with the call because it was not following the spirit of the rule. The NFL has said the officials made the correct decision. "There's been a debate for years and years, almost the entire time when I served on the competition committee, that was always debated about how much celebration they were going to have, and I've always been on the side of more celebration,'' Jones said. "Always. I think it's fun for the fans. I do not think it takes away from the players or the sanctity of the game. Source: The Dallas Morning News
