The Cowboys told placekicker David Buehler, who has a strong but erratic leg, to focus on field goals this offseason. Beat writer Tim MacMahon says Buehler will compete with Connor Hughes, one of the kickers the Cowboys brought in for a workout after cutting Nick Folk, for the field goals job. The Cowboys would prefer not to use another draft pick on a kicker after selecting one in two of the last three years. Source: ESPN
If it's not Buehler doing field goals, it will for sure be Connor Hughes. The only reason we took Squeezham over Hughes was because Squeeezy had experience and Hughes didn't.
If Buehler can get his accuracy down we would be set at that position. He helped our special teams units tremendously with his booming kickoffs...we went from 0 touchbacks to tops in the league...I think. This way we don't have to waste 2 roster spots on a place kicker and a kickoff specialist.
