The Dallas Cowboys officially placed defensive end Ben Bass on the season-ending injured reserve list Saturday. Bass, the Texas A&M and Plano West product, suffered a dislocated left shoulder in practice Thursday. Bass was also placed on injured reserve last December after he injured his ankle in practice. The club also officially signed defensive lineman Jerome Long on Saturday and plan to have him active Sunday night in the season opener against the Giants. Long (6-4, 297) played in all five preseason games with the Cowboys before they released him during final cuts Aug. 31. Source: Dallas Morning News
